The challenge – turn an ordinary 1960's kitchen into a fully concealed Arts and Crafts kitchen "library." The client’s goal – hide all appliances from the adjoining living room. To achieve this goal, Fremont Interiors used warm cherry hardwoods and veneers in a series of retractable and flipper doors to keep the kitchen functions a mystery. A unique, fully elliptical island is the jewel in this kitchen's crown; adorned with a terrazzo countertop, wine storage, icemaker, and curved doors. A matching terrazzo countertop caps the bar wall as a series of framed glass panels with backlighting adds ambience. To continue with the Arts & Crafts motif, custom mullions were applied to a pair of tall doors next to the sink along with custom patterned sandblasted glass.

This kitchen project began as a complete
remodel including, the removal of existing walls, doors and windows.
The addition of new French doors to add light and the new open
floor plan provide for a wonderful environment for small family
gatherings or the large entertaining event. The cabinetry is a
beaded inset style with a paint and glaze for the perimeter and
stain and glaze on the island.

Complete kitchen remodel during the 2001 St.
Margaret's Hospital Guild Decorators' Show House. The challenge of this
kitchen project was to create an environment that extends the historical
integrity of the home, while providing the physical requirements necessary
to support a meeting and conference facility. The painted cabinetry
brushed chrome hardware and architectural elements support the established
style of the home, while the European cabinetry construction and internal
accoutrements provide the function necessary in today's kitchen.

The goal in this remodel project was to provide
a functional workspace for two. Our solution includes the standard work
triangle, an island workstation accessible from either side, a refrigeration
and pantry wall, and ample counter space throughout. The French Tuscan
style was achieved through the use of maple cabinetry with a custom
stained and painted finish.
